The Healing Power Of Hypnotherapy

The Healing Power Of Hypnotherapy
During my first 10 years working as a psychotherapist, I had the privilege of listening to the life stories of thousands of clients. My clients experienced hardships that included domestic and community violence, personal and family substance abuse, learning disabilities, poverty, sexual abuse, co-dependent relationships, self-destructive behavior patterns, and societal oppression due to their race, gender, ethnicity, government, primary language, sexual orientation, and more.

The anger that I observed reached homicidal levels and the sadness reached suicidal levels. And despite any flaws in our nation's mental health system, I can humbly and first handedly state that mental health services have saved many, many lives. I have witnessed the powerful - though often prolonged - power of healing that good psychotherapy can nurture. But after 10 years working in the mental health field, I had provided thousands of psychotherapy sessions and attended plenty more of my own. I had also been a student of meditation, metaphysics, and various forms of non-denominational spirituality from a soul-evolutionary perspective for nearly 20 years. Through this integrative work, I became keenly aware that healing often requires more than just talking.

With a desire to sharpen my tools I pursued hypnotherapy training. When I enrolled in a hypnotherapy certification program, little did I know that my relationship with my work and my clients would change forever. My healing work would soon draw from a level of human strength that goes well beyond the psychological, but into a place that is commonly referred to among hypnotherapists as the superconscious - a portion of the psyche that contains a profound level of inner wisdom, strength, connection to divine power in the universe - a portion of the human energy system that is driven not only to survive, but to thrive!

What hypnosis is:

Hypnosis is a state of relaxation very similar to meditation. When you think about levels of relaxation, there is a continuum. On one extreme end is our fully alert (Beta) state of mind. In western culture, we are conditioned from a very early age to utilize this active, left brained side...think, analyze, multi-task, get things done quickly. This active state of mind is also where we experience stress! A little further along the continuum, our biorhythm slows down a bit and we start to relax (Alpha state). We regain a sense of perspective and our stress levels decrease (e.g. looking at the ocean, sitting quietly for a few minutes, taking a few deep breaths, dazing off a bit). Still further along the continuum, our brain waves slow even more (Theta). We begin to daydream or even experience a light state of sleep. Hypnosis begins in the alpha state and shifts into the theta state, however it occurs before we actually fall into a deep state of sleep (Delta). Contrary to popular myth, being hypnotized does not mean being put to sleep, nor does it involve a loss of control.

But how does relaxing help us heal through hypnosis?

1. In a state of hypnosis, people often access information ">How Much Hypnotherapy Does It Take?

Hypnotherapy is not psychotherapy. The work is very goal focused, can be intense, and often involves some rather rapid-fire healing and clearing. Having a clear understanding of the issue can be an important way of moving the process along. Some people are able to get really good results in one session, but that is not the norm. I find that many people are able to resolve a single issue in 4-6 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart. The more complex the issues, the more sessions will be required.

Hypnosis Hypnosis Is About Changes Part 2

Hypnosis Hypnosis Is About Changes Part 2
Hi,

This is Splash 2 of my franchise of HYPNOSIS IS Vis-?-vis CHANGES.

As mentioned in Splash 1, hypnotherapist facilitating changes can be elegant at the Cause/Factors, Circumstances(s) or the Symptoms Levels. The easiest is the Symptoms Constant. We do it by say Post-Hypnotic Suggestions.

The problem using suggestions is it once in a blue moon certainly works.

In the past the symptoms are being unconnected by suggestions and the "Circumstances(s)" still surface, it can precisely establish option indication or the same indication difficult. But this can be effective under either of these two conditions:

1. You renowned the true Passion for the change considered necessary and the Passion is big adequate.

2. The Indicator is just one of the everyday ways that can "stablize" the "Circumstances". It is NOT the Righteous and/or Key way to do so.

For Prerequisite 1, true motivation can once in a blue moon be renowned in Conscious Be concerned (subsequent to activist is anger). They are thoroughly hidden in the Sibconscious Be concerned. To be effective, we use the motivations establish in what's more mind to motivation what's more the conscious and the bad minds. We get such information of the conscious mind fashionable Pretalk moment in time we can identify the motivation of the bad mind using techniques like, Interior Derive, Interior Healer, In attendance with the Poison Exclusive, Hypno-Analysis, Passion Mapping, Monotonous Uncovering Rescue and the ES Treatment.

You can do nil about Prerequisite 2. Prerequisite 1 is a matter of skills moment in time Prerequisite 2 is a matter of Luck!

Passion is the key to effective hypnotic suggestions. So, we formulate our Attach Touch using the format of "CHANGES for example Passion".

In the past you can't help the customers to improve at the "Indicator(s) Constant", go to the over levels. The over levels can be auxiliary effective, but need exclusive skills and concentration invlove auxiliary pains to the clients!

I will talk auxiliary about the "Mine Constant" in Splash 3.

The Way To Use Self Hypnosis And Mental Imagery

The Way To Use Self Hypnosis And Mental Imagery

By Judie Keys

Hypnosis allows us to experience thoughts, fantasies and images as virtually real. It also plays a part suffering discomfort and stress control. Besides, it can change specific behaviors,eg studying, help control hate and sadness, build self-esteem, reduce bad habits, and such like.

The majority can be hypnotised and can use self-hypnosis, claims Judie Keys, a Clinical Hypnotherapist in San Diego, California

STEP ONE: Become familiar with self-hypnosis and/or psychological imagery.

Learn all about the basics of hypnosis. Then, practice these systems with a goal in mind; of what you are attempting to achieve with this method. It is best to ask a professional help regarding questions of self-hypnosis.

STEP TWO: Prepare a specific method for prompting self-hypnosis.

You may want to try hypnotherapy in San Diego. You can memorize or record the general induction process into an audiotape and give self- instructions. First of all find a quiet, calm and comfortable place for the associated procedure. Then, imagine your entire body relaxing. Then in time of quietness, a recording of self-instructions can then be played.

STEP THREE: Develop self improvement instructions to give yourself during hypnosis.

The self-instructions may reflect a new disposition towards others or yourself, another way of thinking and the like. Words used should be straightforward but used regularly. Besides that, it should be plausible, fascinating, used certainly for a particular time and most significantly provide a visual picture of the advised end result. Write your own directions for any desired change, e.g. If you are not motivated at work or at school, write self-suggestions about having the drive and resolution to modify, seeing the importance of that change and the fantastic possible outcomes.

STEP FOUR: Get prepared and have the experience daily.

Find a quiet, non-public place without any distractions to perform the 20 minutes session. Have your self-instructions prepared. Go through the whole routine as you planned it. Develop a hypnosis routine so you will have the experience at the same time each day. Be patient, it will take time to learn any new skill.

Integrative Hypnotherapy

Integrative Hypnotherapy
Many people ask me how I work as an Integrative Hypnotherapist and although this is a simple question it is not an easy one to answer. The reason being is, as an Integrative Hypnotherapist, I seek to understand various approaches and work with these in a way which resonates and fits in with the client's way of being. My way of working is unique with each client and fits in with my experience and training. Integrative Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy which encompasses many different therapy modules and approaches, such as person centred, working with the mind and body, personal coaching, gestalt, transpersonal, NLP, humanistic etc. An Integrative Hypnotherapist aims to take all these varying modules into account and works in a multi-dimensional that is created and unique for each client during sessions and hypnosis. A way to consider this to think about your life, as you follow your own path, meet new people, you may come across different obstacles - some easier than others, at times you may be depressed, anxious or stressed, or you may be coming to terms with a loss. Your life is multi-dimensional, many different events, or situations occurring on different emotional levels so it makes sense that at different times in your life, and indeed during hypnotherapy, that different approaches are required. There are so many different types of Hypnotherapist working today such as Clinical Hypnotherapist, Cognitive Hypnotherapist, Behavioural Cognitive Hypnotherapist, Curative Hypnotherapy, Pure hypno-analysis etc. There is nothing wrong if a hypnotherapist decides to specialise in one form of hypnotherapy as at times these can be effective. Although, at times, problems may occur and treatment can be limited as the Hypnotherapist is only equipped and trained with only one way of working, so therefore expects the client to enter the hypnotherapist world of being and way of working. Hypnotherapy should not be a one size fits all as we are all unique, and at times complex, multi-dimensional human beings with our own personal life story and at times clients need different things during their life and across therapy. An Integrative Hypnotherapist has the skills, flexibility, understanding, therapy modules and experience to be with the client, to walk with them, to enter their world and to provide what they need at that particular time in life whether it's anxiety, phobia, medical conditions, confidence or stress management. Author Bio Linda Connors is an experienced London based Integrative Hypnotherapist specialising in Anxiety, stress, confidence and medical conditions.

Hypnotherapy Free Your Mind And Soul

Hypnotherapy Free Your Mind And Soul
Hypnosis is a Greek word which means "sleep". This is also referred to as hypnotherapy. With the help of a hypnotherapist, you reach a trancelike state of restful awareness. When you are under hypnosis you are actually not sleeping, though it may seem like you are. You tend to be more focused and more responsive to suggestions. The main purpose of this is to help you gain self control over your emotions and behavior.

How does it work?

Though it is not very clear how it works, it tends to synchronize the body and the brain through nerve impulses, body chemicals, and hormones. It is said that the mind has two parts; the subconscious mind and the conscious mind. When you are hypnotized, you are said to be in your subconscious mind. It helps you relax and quieten your mind. We tend to go into the hypnotic state in our day to day life also. Many a time we lose track of the time and get engrossed in our work, or while reading a good book or listening to good music, this is similar to the hypnotic process.

Stages:

When you are under hypnosis, you tend to concentrate intensely without any distractions. As you become more open to suggestions, you tend to listen to what you are being told, which could help you give up your bad habits like smoking and drinking alcohol, improving your health and well being.

You are said to go through three stages in Hypnotherapy; the first being the superficial trance, where your eyes may be closed, but you still exist in the present stage and you are aware of your surroundings. During this stage you are more open to suggestions, but since the trance is very light, there is a possibility that you may not accept it. The second stage is the alpha stage, which is deeper than the first one. Here the person accepts what he is being told. The therapist can actually control your response to any physical pain or allergies and control your immune system. Your blood pressure and your heart rate can also be controlled. The third stage is called age regression, which is even deeper than the alpha stage. In this stage the person can be sent back in time to remember events which had occurred years back. This technique is helpful to make the person come out of any physical, mental, or emotional problems, which could be related to his past. Cases like sexual abuse during childhood can really disturb the mind, causing physical and mental torture.

Benefits:

Deep hypnosis can also relieve pain from your body and control allergies. Chronic pain such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and back pain are said to be improved with hypnotherapy. Practising this can relieve symptoms up to 70 percent. Even sleeping disorders such as sleep apnea and snoring can be improved. This technique is even used in the emergency rooms in hospitals to help relax a severely injured victim, and even in the ICU to control the heart rate and respiration. Dentists also use this technique to decrease pain, calm the patients, and to reduce bleeding. Even during childbirth it is used to relieve pain.

Hypnosis can work only when you fulfill three conditions - A peaceful environment without any disturbance, good understanding between the therapist and you, and your cooperation and willingness to be a part of the therapy.

Hypnosis performed by a certified hypnotherapist is said to bring good changes in your health. It helps you give up unwanted habits like smoking, overeating, give up alcohol, and overcoming stress. It can also help control phobias, and this therapy has shown positive results in controlling asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, and high blood pressure.

Remember to go only to a certified and recognized practitioner, as the success of the therapy will depend on the competence of the therapist. It is best to take opinions from friends and those around you.

Self Hypnosis In 5 Easy Steps

Self Hypnosis In 5 Easy Steps
There is a growing interest in the effects of self hypnosis. Successful people from all walks of life are using it and reporting amazing results, from sportsmen to people undergoing surgery. It would appear that if you don't harness the powers of self hypnosis, you're going to be left a step behind all those people who do.Never fear though because self hypnosis is easy to perform and it's more accessible than ever, read on to find out how you can change your life in 5 easy steps.
Hypnotherapy is great for relaxation and relieving stress. It calms both our minds and bodies, giving us that valuable 'time out'. However it can be quite costly to hire a clinical hypnotherapist, and we may not always want one around when we want to de-stress. This is not a problem, as it is possible to do self hypnosis, and I will show you how.To begin with, you will need to make sure that you will not be disturbed for at least half and hour, preferably an hour. Turn off phones, and tell family and friends not to bother you for a while. Find a comfortable place. Somewhere that is neat and tidy, and of a comfortable temperature. Subdue the lighting if this helps you. If you wish, you could light some candles and burn some incense. You can be seated, or lie down - whichever is most comfortable for you. Importantly make sure that your legs are not crossed, as you could end up going numb after half an hour!1) Close your eyes and take 10 slow deep breaths - in through the nose, and out through the mouth. Say to yourself the word 'Relax' on each out breath.2) Now imagine yourself at the top of 10 steps, with a door at the bottom. With every slow step you take down, feel yourself becoming deeper and deeper relaxed.3) When you get to the bottom open the door to your ideal place of relaxation. It could be a beach, a garden, anywhere. It could be somewhere real, or imagined.4) Try to use as many senses as you can. Take a good look around. Pause and listen to any sounds. Perhaps you can hear the call of a bird, or the breeze gently blowing. Perhaps you can smell the sweet scent of flowers, or the salt in the sea? Touch objects, and make it as real as you possibly can.5) Explore your relaxing haven, and enjoy it for as long as you wish. This is a great technique to help relaxation, and your ability to relax will improve the more you do this. Most of us do not relax anywhere near enough, and it damages our health in many ways. Stress weakens our immune systems, causes irritability, anxiety, and unhappiness. Even if you just do relaxation work, you will massively improve your overall health in almost every area. If you are struggling with this technique, then persevere. Getting into a hypnotic state is a skill that will improve over time. Don't expect too much, you will probably still be aware of what is going on around you. It may be worthwhile visiting a clinical hypnotherapist, or buying a recording at least once, in order to experience the feeling of a trance. When you have experienced a trance a few times, you will be more informed as to what state of mind you are seeking. You can also take this self hypnosis a little further if you wish. You can learn to give yourself specific therapy the more you practice. Here are a few techniques you can use after you have reached number 5.What the mind imagines, it believes has really happened. If you imagine something bad happening to you, you will feel the emotions as if it is really happening. Success breeds success, so if you visualise yourself achieving something, then it will help you to do just that. You may wish to visualise yourself slimmer, healthier or wealthier for example. Or you may wish to visualise yourself having achieved something, such as a promotion or a new job. Make the image as real as you can, use all of your senses, and do this as often as you can.You are only limited by your imagination. In fact you should notice that your creative powers increase the more that you use self hypnosis, as your mind becomes more accustomed to utilizing its creative powers. Stick with it. What I sometimes find is that people will stop using hypnosis once they have made the necessary improvements that they wished to make. However this may eventually deny the overall benefits of the increased relaxation, as things may slowly slip back to where they started. Set a specific time to do it, even if it is only once a week. If you have specific issues that you wish to deal with, then increase this accordingly, perhaps every day for a few weeks.I hope me sharing this technique with you will help some of you to improve your mental and physical well-being, and realise what a useful tool for change hypnosis is. I genuinely want to help as many people as possible to live long, healthy and happy lives. I hope this contributes in some way. Please feel free to contact me to share your success stories, or for further advice.Author Resource:- Jon Rhodes is one of the UK's leading clinical hypnotherapists. An Unusual Perspective On Past Life Regression

An Unusual Perspective On Past Life Regression
Whether you believe in Reincarnation or Past Life Therapy, this is interesting..

"Past-life hypnosis ban in Israel

2009 July 25

by Roy Stemman

Authorised hypnotherapists whose work is recognised by Israel's Health Ministry have been banned from exploring their patients' past lives. The Advisory Committee on the Law on Hypnosis has made the ruling following complaints that some clients had suffered serious emotional damage through reincarnation hypnosis sessions.

The ban does not affect unauthorised hypnotists, in line with the Health Ministry's decision to allow various alternative treatments that are not recognised as therapeutic by modern medicine.

Commenting on the restriction, which was announced in Israel's oldest newspaper, Haaretz (24 July, 2009), Dr Alex Aviv of the Abarbanel Mental Health Centre in Bat Yam, who heads the advisory committee, argued that hypnosis and reincarnation had nothing to do with one another.

"This is a mystical practice for people who believe in reincarnation," he explained. "We've seen a number of cases where practitioners tried to perform this on patients and things went bad."

He did not say whether the committee examined any cases where patients had a positive outcome from hypnotic regression to an apparent past life.

The newspaper said discussion on past-life regression therapy began two years ago within the ministry and ended with "an explicit ban on offering the practice, or for hypnotists to present themselves as experts in the field."
