Nlp Coaching Step 3 For Creating The Life You Want By Setting Goals You Believe In
In our NLP Coaching Training we'll share with you exactly why goals are important, what they are, how to set them in a specific way that will cause them to happen.

S.M.A.R.T GOALS - How can we set goals that we can believe in? How do we create confidence and certainty that ensures that they will happen?

Achieving our goals in life gives us an enormous sense of satisfaction and self worth, it teaches us and installs into our neurology the unconscious habit that will allow us to accomplish anything, we have value and are in control of our own happiness and are empowered to design our future the way that we want it. Essentially goal setting skills allow us to live the life that we want by design rather than by default.

There are some very important rules to setting S.M.A.R.T goals, with three easy yet very important steps. Many people set goals only using a couple of these steps but very few people are aware of all of the essential components.

S.M.A.R.T

S - SPECIFIC AND SIMPLE

M - MEASURABLE AND MEANINGFUL

A - AS IF NOW AND ALL AREAS OF LIFE

R - REALISTIC AND RESPONSIBLE

T - TIMED AND TOWARD WHAT YOU WANT

STEP ONE is to mind dump onto paper all of the things that you have ever imagined that you wanted to do or to have, it's important that you do this with no restrictions, no limits and no thought for how you will achieve it at this initial stage.

STEP TWO is to temper and tailor your goals so that they fit and work within the frame work of the S.M.A.R.T system, so each goal needs to be:

SPECIFIC / SIMPLE - So "I want my business to be highly successful" is not specific. The goal must be written in a way that anyone can read it and they will be unable to misinterpret it.

MEASURABLE / MEANINGFUL TO YOU - So think about the measure that will tell you that you have succeeded in achieving your goal. Maybe it is from positive peer or client review, maybe it's the EBITDA, maybe it's the ranking in the fortune 500 ?

AS IF NOW - the end statement that represents the goal must be languaged in a way that tells you it has already happened. "I have I am doing I am being"

REALISTIC - There needs to be an element of conscious mind real world evidence to suggest that the goal is achievable in the stated time frame

TIMED - The actual date, day, month, year and even time that your goal has been achieved has to be in your goal statement. "it is the 1st of April 2019 and I have."

NOTE. Within your goal statement there must be no negations, no comparatives (ie better than, more than, greater than ect..) and no nouns that reference anything that you don't want an extreme example would be "the business is doing much better now and we no longer need our overdraft"

STEP THREE the final secret step that many people often miss, which is you need to run your clearly defined well written goal through what we call the certainty model. You want to read your goal through to yourself and pay very close attention to whether or not you BELIEVE it to be possible, remember our unconscious mind delivers us what we believe in, so if you are not 100% congruent with the goal that you have set, that means you have doubt and your focus will be driven by the doubts that you feel and your results will be whatever you are focused on. To develop belief you either need to let go of negative emotions and limiting decisions that are stopping you achieving your goal and or re-write your goal in smaller steps so you can believe in it now and build from there.
